If I use a VPN in my city (Toronto) and still use the same steam server download location (Toronto), which naturally slows down my download speeds to around 20mbps, it gives me continuous download I have pushed up to 80mbps and it has worked except a handful of times.
If i limit my download speed in steam while still using my closest server (Toronto) to around 50mbps, the download is continuous and never stops. I have tried both ethernet cat6 and wifi 6. But, in the same settings window at the bottom, clicking "clear download cache" has worked for me.Īfter some testing on my end, it seems that changing download server location only works for me because the distance does not create large jumps in download speed.
